Their children were Mary, Christene, Emma, Arthur, James and Catherine. Local story has it she was a daughter of David and Isabel Kenty of Gays River, but I have no way of proving it for you. The 1871 census for Gays River shows David Kenty, age 55, born N.S. of Scottish ancestry, and wife Isabelle Kenty, age 55, born N.S. same origin. There is also a William Kenty, age 36, born N.S. living alone, unmarried. He may have been an older brother of Annie.
