"Arthur Dunbrack lives only few hours after being struck by auto" Retired blacksmith, native of Dartmouth, is victim of yuletide tragedy on Halifax Street.

One fatality was recorded in Halifax during the Christmas holiday weekend. On Christmas Day Arthur Dunbrack, 68, a retired blacksmith who lived at 29 South Street, died in the Victoria General Hospital 3 hours after he had been struck by an automobile at South and South Park streets. A native of Dartmouth, Mr Dunbrack had resided for a few years in Halifax. He retired from his trade 3 years ago, last employment being with the Halifax Harbour Commission. In his younger days he was a gold prospector.

He is survived by his wife and their four children: Regina, Edna and Allan of Halifax, and Carl of Dartmouth.
