Colonial Office Records #199.18, held in London contain Court Records which prove a Daw owned land in Port de Grave, Newfoundland in 1595. E.R. Seary wrote this was a George Daw. Whether this George is an ancestor of our "Devon Daw's" or an ancestor of the "Cornwall Daw's" is not known for certain. (Provided by Grenfell (Gary) Morgan)
