"got possession of the lands of Innermarkie about the year 1480 which became
the chief title of the family. He afterwards got a charter under the great
seal, Walter Innes &c. of part of the lands of Auchlevon, Ardoune and Garlaw
dated anno 1490. (Charter in public archives). Also a charter of the lands of
