Thanks for your letter dated 28 January 2000. I was extremely surprised to
hear from another Dumbreck, that wasn't my brother.

My correct name is Ursula Karen Dumbreck and I was born on 2 February 1970.
My parents were John Stewart Dumbreck, born 1 May 1926 and Evelyn Thomson
Stevenson or Dumbreck, born 17 July 1930, married 7 September 1951. My
father died on 7 July 1990 and my mother died on 14 April 1996.

I have a brother, John Stewart Dumbreck born 26 March 1955. He is married
to Catherine Edgar and has 3 children, Samantha, Stewart and Pamela. I
also have a sister Mary Drysdale Dumbreck born 16 June 1952.

I am not sure of any other information that you may require. If there is
any further help I can give you to trace my family further, then please
contact me and I will try to look up death certificates etc. My address is

I enclose copies of my dad's birth and death certificates for your
information.

The person who registered my dad's death is definitely my brother, John
Stewart (Iain) Dumbreck - it is his bad signature that makes it look like an
"R". My brother did stay at 8 Kelvindale Place, Maryhill, Glasgow when my
dad died in 1990. Unfortunately that doesn't explain the "R" Dumbreck born
in 1931 though.

The R Dumbreck registered Ursulas' grandfathers death and not her fathers death. Slight confusion with similar names!
