This page contains information on family history in Ucria, Sicily, where my maternal grandparents were born. It includes indices to births and marriages in Ucria from 1821 to 1910 from the Family Search site on Ucria (1866-1910) and the Antenati site on Ucria (1821-1865). Not all years are available as indicated in the index pages. For some years, the records are available but no index was prepared. Eventually I will index these.

To obtain the Family Search records corresponding to the index pages given below, click this link and select either Nati (births) for 1866-1899 or 1900-1910, Allegati Matromoni (marriage notices) for 1866-1910, or Matrimoni Pubblicazioni for 1866-1903. You will need a free account to view the images. You will have to browse through the images to find the year and then the record that corresponds to the record number in the index. The records are in order of their record number in each year. Some years are in the wrong place. There is a download button above each image. Rename the image file or you will lose track of it. I have not yet downloaded the Matrimoni pubblicazioni (marriage banns) but once you have found the marriage record you can find the banns around the same dates. They often contain more information, like the names of grandparents of the spouses. For example, they may give the name of the bride followed by "di Rosario fu Vincenzo" which means she is the daughter of Rosario who is son of the late ("fu") Vincenzo. Often this information is in the text at the bottom of the records.

To obtain the Antenati records corresponding to the index pages given below, click this link and select the archive you want ("Nati" for births; "Morti" for deaths; "Matrimoni" for marriages). Just above the images, there is an icon that looks like an open book or two panes of a window. Click that to see images of all the pages at once. Click through the images until you find the record you want; they are in numerical order and correspond to the numbers given in the index pages. Right click on the image to download it (it will be a snapshot of what you see, so adjust the zoom as needed).

Records from 1821-1865 are available from the Antenati site. Records from 1866 onwards are available from the FamilySearch website.
